Bias in the Classroom

Women and people of color continue to be underrepresented in many STEM fields and careers. Researchers have long endeavored to understand whether teachers’ evaluations of their students’ mathematical ability or performance are accurate or whether their evaluations reveal implicit biases. This project involves a series of randomized experiments to explore whether teachers hold bias against students of color and female students across different teaching contexts.
